Exciting opportunities exist for Registered Nurses with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to join the busy Cardiac Unit at a private hospital in Melbourne. Multiple permanent full-time and part-time roles are available.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking perioperative nursing care in accordance with legislation;
- Delivering evidence-based nursing care;
- Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team;
- Ensuring patient and staff safety;
- Supervising, directing, and guiding nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and (AINs) to deliver patient care;
- Proactively assessing the perioperative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the patient;
- Completing all required documentation in accordance with local and National Policies;
- Looking after a variety of cardiac patients (heart failure, chest pain, arrhythmias);
- Looking after patients pre and post cath lab (coronary angiograms, PPM);
- Preparing patients for CABGs/Valve surgeries.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- At least 2 years of experience;
- Experience in an acute hospital setting, ideally in a cardiac ward;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Commitment to quality patient care;
- Ability to work well independently and within a team;
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
REMUNERATION
A salary ranges from $35.33 - $47.25 per hour, based on your years of relevant experience.

The hospital, located in Melbourne, is a fully accredited tertiary facility with 295 beds that provides Emergency Services, Intensive Care, and Cardiac Services, including a 24-hour Cardiac Cath Lab and Victoria's only Single-Site Robotic Surgery Program. The hospital has 8 surgical wards with various specialties, including cardiac, general surgery, plastics, colorectal, hepatobiliary, urology, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, and vascular surgery.
