An exciting opportunity exists for a Recovery Coordinator / Team Leader to assist in the coordination of nursing care and work in partnership with the PACU Team at a private hospital in Western Sydney. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high patient care levels.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the nursing team with planning, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of an excellent standard of evidence-based, person-centered care;
  • Collaborating with the perioperative management team to provide strategic leadership, supervision, and oversight as required;
  • Demonstrating professional practice as evidenced by adhering to AHPRA professional standards, the code of ethics and conduct, and legislative requirements;
  • Fostering a learning environment through clinical presentations to support the nursing team’s professional development, maintaining your own professional learning and continuous development, and providing supervision and teaching to peers, ENs, graduates, and students;
  • Acting as a valued member of the interdisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care by actively contributing to team processes and practices;
  • Collaborating with external partners to ensure patients receive high-quality care across the healthcare continuum;
  • Maintaining professional and constructive working relationships with the VMO partners, using a customer service mindset to enable high-quality patient outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Current AHPRA registration;
  • At least 4 years of experience as a Recovery RN;
  • Prior experience as a CNS, acting NUM, or in charge in PACU will be highly regarded;
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards);
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
  • Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and work within a team environment;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Passion for teaching, educating, and up-skilling staff in cardiac operating theatres.

ABOUT THE FACILITY 

The hospital, located in Western Sydney, is a modern 109-bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography, obstetrics. The hospital has eight operating Theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre, and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit that includes intensive care.
