An excellent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and motivated nursing leader to undertake the Nurse Unit Manager of the Acute Surgical Ward which provides care for Orthopaedic, Neurosurgical, general, and plastic surgery patients at a private hospital in Perth. It is a permanent Full-Time role.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership and direction to the ward to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget, and business direction of the hospital;
- Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
- Accountability and responsibility for the effective management of human, financial, and material resources and ensuring that customer service is maintained at optimal levels;
- Undertaking direct patient care as required, providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team;
- Participating in working parties/committees and demonstrating a commitment to continuous quality, improvements through NSQHS, workplace health and safety, and achievement of hospital accreditation.
REQUIREMENTS
- Registration with AHPRA;
- Experience in Cardiology, Cardiothoracic, and Vascular surgical care;
- Ability to achieve results through consultation, advice, and facilitation;
- High degree of computer literacy including MS Office;
- Ability to work and liaise within a multidisciplinary team to achieve organisational and department objectives.

The hospital, located in Perth, is a 224-bed private facility that provides Acute Surgical, Medical and Rehabilitation, and Coronary and Intensive Care Services. The Operating Theatre department consists of 10 theatres (including a Hybrid) covering a range of specialities, including cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, general, vascular, and plastic reconstructive surgery.
