An excellent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and motivated nursing leader to undertake the Nurse Unit Manager of the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgical Ward role at a private hospital in Perth. It is a permanent Full-Time role.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing leadership and direction to the ward to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget, and business direction of the hospital;
  • Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
  • Accountability and responsibility for the effective management of human, financial, and material resources and ensuring that customer service is maintained at optimal levels;
  • Undertaking direct patient care as required, providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team;
  • Participating in working parties/committees and demonstrating a commitment to continuous quality, improvements through NSQHS, workplace health and safety, and achievement of hospital accreditation.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Registration with AHPRA;
  • At least 3 years of cardiothoracic and vascular surgical care experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of delivering on Key KPIs;
  • Ability to achieve results through consultation, advice, and facilitation;
  • A high degree of computer literacy, including MS Office;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to manage human and material resources as a senior leader on the ward;
  • Strong sense of customer service;
  • Ability to work and liaise within a multidisciplinary team to achieve organisational and department objectives;
  • Postgraduate qualifications in cardiovascular nursing or commitment to obtaining same (desirable);
  • Recent management experience at ANUM level or higher (desirable);
  • Knowledge of relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements (desirable).

ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Perth, is a 224-bed private facility that provides Acute Surgical, Medical and Rehabilitation, and Coronary and Intensive Care Services. The Operating Theatre department consists of 10 theatres (including a Hybrid) covering a range of specialities, including cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, general, vascular, and plastic reconstructive surgery.
