An opportunity has arisen for a Registered Midwife with a passion for women’s health and a commitment to providing exceptional care to join the maternity team at a private hospital in Sydney. It is a full-time role.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The registered midwife will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate midwifery care in collaboration with key stakeholders:
In this position, you will:
- Provide comprehensive midwifery care during antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods;
- Support and educate new mothers about breastfeeding, newborn care, and postnatal recovery;
- Collaborate with obstetricians, paediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver multidisciplinary care;
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with hospital policies and best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- At least 2 years of experience in a birth suite and or post-natal setting;
- Demonstrated experience working in the postnatal midwifery setting;
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and understanding;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a supportive team;
- Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised patient-centered care;
- Demonstrated professional manner when involved in emergencies;
- Advanced communication skills and willingness to work in a multi-disciplinary team;
- Flexibility of a 7-day, rotating roster;
Desired:
- Demonstrated experience in Antenatal, Birthing Suite, or Special Care Nursery settings;
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of quality improvement initiatives or willingness to learn and be involved;
- Experience in Private Health Care;
- IBCLC (Lactation) certificate, working toward or desire to complete;
- Willingness to be involved in quality projects.
